Devah & Torre
Our Origins
As an acoustic duo, Devah & Torre perform unique versions of the songs they grew up listening to in the 60’s and 70’s. They built a following performing in Manhattan for many years before moving to Westchester County, where they have continued performing at restaurants, bars, cafes and various live music venues in NY and CT.
They also ran a family oriented open mic for a year at a popular venue in White Plains where they performed with a band.

Devah
While growing up in Maryland, Devah took classical piano lessons and taught herself acoustic guitar as a teen well versed in the work of artists such as Joni Mitchell, Chrissie Hynde, Annie Lennox, and Bonnie Raitt. She began performing solo and sang in a rock band as a teen around her home town, as well as during college at the University of Rochester while studying classical piano at Eastman School of Music.
After college she sang in a wedding and club date band in the Washington, DC area for a year before moving to NYC to pursue her interest in songwriting. A call from a major record company fueled her
efforts to continue to write, perform and record her original music which is a blend of musical styles.
Torre
Torre grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens in a large Italian family before relocating to suburban Westchester NY at age 13. At this age he began playing guitar, taking lessons and performing at church services and in a rock band with classmates during high school. He went on to study jazz guitar and improvisation at Eastman School of Music, as well as composition, theory and arranging at Rutgers University’s music program, where he became proficient in many genres and performed in jazz and rock bands. After college he moved to the East village where he performed as guitarist for a progressive rock band called the Niked Ipes.
During his years living in the lower East side he developed skills as recording engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, which led to building his independent recording studio business, leading to employment at a major recording studio in Manhattan. He eventually moved his studio to the upper west side, where he acted as producer and instrumentalist in a broad scope of music styles for projects for record labels and independent artists. After moving to Westchester County, he continued employment in commercial and residential audio video installations. He is a consummate songwriter, singer and instrumentalist who draws on blues, jazz, bossa nova, funk and rock.
